青柳 正規 Masanori Aoyagi

歴史学者・考古学者、多摩美術大学理事長

1944年、大連生まれ。古代ローマ美術・考古学を専攻。東京大学文学部教授、国立西洋美術館館長、文化庁長官などを務め、現在、東京大学名誉教授、東京藝術大学特任教授、日本学士院会員、山梨県立美術館館長、学校法人多摩美術大学理事長、奈良県立橿原考古学研究所所長、東京オリンピック・パラリンピック 文化・教育委員会委員長、石川県立美術館館長、他。50年に亘りイタリアの古代ローマの遺跡発掘に携わる。

国内では、地中海学会賞（1978年）、マルコ・ポーロ賞（1991年）、浜田青陵賞（1991年）、毎日出版文化賞（1993年）、紫綬褒章（2006年）、日本放送協会放送文化賞（2011年）、瑞宝重光章（2017年）などを受賞。海外では、イタリア ポルト・エンペドクレ賞（1984年）、イタリア共和国功績正騎士勲章（2002年）、イタリア Sebetia Ter国際賞（2008年）、イタリア Torquato Tasso国際賞（2017年）、イタリア Amedeo Maiuri 国際考古学賞(2019年)を受賞。

著書は、『皇帝たちの都ローマ』、『ローマ帝国』、『文化立国論』、「人類文明の黎明と暮れ方」他。

Asanori Aoyagi has significantly contributed to the promotion of the culture of ancient Rome in Japan from different prominent positions: Honorary Professor University of Tokyo, Professor at Tokyo Art University, Member of the Japan Scholar Academy, Director of the Yamanashi Art Museum, Chairman of the Tama University of the Arts, Director of Nara Prefectural Kashihara Archaeological Institute. He has been appointed Chairman of the Olympic and Paralympic Culture and Education Committee and has been widely awarded both in Japan and in Italy.
