Italian figure skating international star. She was born on February 8, 1987 in Bolzano, Italy.

In 1991 Carolina began skating, she was only four years old, and in 2001, at the age of thirteen, she achieved her first professional success at international level. She is a part of Fiamme Azzurre Sporting Group, which is the sports section of the Italian police force Polizia Penitenziaria.

• Winner of the bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi
• World Champion in 2012; she also won other five medals at the World Championships (silver in 2008 and 2013, bronze in 2005, 2011 and 2014)
• Five-time European Champion (2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013); she also arrived second in 2009 and 2011 and third in 2006, 2017 and 2018 at the European Championships
